This year’s Pantone Color of the Year is Classic Blue and I’m here for it! I know for many of you the thought of blue eye shadow conjures up images of Mimi Bobeck from The Drew Carey Show, but this primary pigment can actually be elegant and bewitching if done right.
Over the past few weeks, I have been covertly incorporating the Classic Blue color in to my eye makeup for my office daytime look by doing a double liner. First, I apply deep neutral color to the crease of my eye. Here, I chose Mented’s Everyday Eye Shadow in “Brown Out”, then I applied a neutral shadow such as Mented’s “Tandemonium” to the lids. Then I chose Nyx’s Professional Eye Pencil in “Sunrise Blue and applied it slightly under my lower lash line, then added a kohl black eye pencil in onyx under my waterline and on the top edge of my lower lash line. This trick helps to mute the blue a little and gives your eyeliner a little more dimension in my opinion, creating a “barely blue” look. Finish off this look with black liquid liner on the top lash line and black mascara. Voila!
